Wedding Ring Insurance 101

There is only one simply reason to justify why you would get wedding ring insurance, and that is to protect your ring. Wedding rings have once been a simple bond ring, maybe made of silver or gold. However, these days, wedding rings can be as glamorous as you want, with as much diamonds or rubies, or whatever, that you want.

So if you spend a lot on your rings, then you also need to protect it through insurance. Yes, the sentimental value of your wedding rings is priceless. But at least the ring can be replaced.

Check Your Homeowner’s Policy

If you already have a homeownerís insurance policy, then ask your insurance agent if that already covers your rings. Most of the time, it does but the coverage may also be not that comprehensive. If your homeowners insurance does not include your rings, you can get a jewelry rider. This is kind of just an extension to your homeownerís insurance.

Wedding Ring Insurance Costs

Wedding ring insurance will cost around a couple of dollars per year for every $100 of your ring value. Letís say your ring costs $5000, then your wedding ring insurance will be about $100 for a year. If you think about it, that is not really too much.

As mentioned, the coverage of your ring in your home insurance policy may not be that good. If thatís the case, you can still look for a stand-alone insurance for your ring. You can also ask your jeweler if they have ties with an insurance company.

Check The Coverage

When looking into wedding ring insurance, you must consider a couple of things to ensure you get the possible deal but not the highest price on the market. Check if the ring will still be covered if you lose the ring or only if it gets stolen. Ask what proof you must provide to support your claim. If they do replace your ring, will they give you a check or will they require you to choose a replacement from a jeweler of their choice. Will they be able to give you back the full value of the ring or just a part of that? What special circumstances are not going to be covered?

Make sure that you know everything there is to know in your wedding ring insurance policy, and in any other type of insurance for that matter.

Appraisal

Have your rings appraised regularly. The value of your rings may increase or decrease after some time so it would be helpful to have the most updated appraisal if you lose your ring. Take pictures of your ring as well. These documents will help a lot when you need to file a claim.

There are different types of wedding ring insurance that you can choose from. A replacement policy will allow you to purchase a ring of the same market value or of the same kind. A actual cash value policy allows you to get the actual value of your ring when you purchased it, even if itís market value already changed. A value at policy is appropriate if your ring is unique or even custom made. If it cannot be replaced because of itís uniqueness, you will be able to get a higher amount than what it is appraised for.

Tips to Make Packing Easier– Dos and Don’ts of Packing

Moving is not going to be an easy task. Most of the challenge would come when you have to pack your things when they are already in the right places in your current home. Here are tips that can help you make packing easier:

Organizing and Preparing

Divide your things into two groups; things you often use and the things that you just use occasionally. The purpose of this is so that when you have to unpack, it would be a lot easy for you to determine which boxes or cartons to open first. It is also advisable to label each box and list the things inside it as well as the room where it should be placed. These labels and markings would help you if there is a need to take extra care of a certain box, especially if it contains breakable and fragile items.

You should pack ahead of time. The tendency is when you pack at the eleventh hour, the things would be more cluttered and less organized. This is also helpful for you to avoid missing objects because you forgot to include it in the packing.

Do not include flammable or fire-producing items in your packing. These are dangerous items. Segregate things according to their types. Make sure that liquid items are sealed and spill-free.

The boxes and cartons should be sealed and closed tightly. It is also recommended for you to use a special type of packing tape to avoid boxes from being opened up and having the things inside it damaged.

Packing

Pack the things that are less used in your household first. Put a label after each item is packed. You can also use color marks to make it easier.

For packing shoes, it is advisable to use the original shoe box. In cases that the original box is no longer available, you can pack them using a different box by pair to avoid cluttering and missing shoe pairs.

For big equipment, like TVs, audio sets, and computers; you can pack them with their original boxes or cartons. However, if they are no longer available, big boxes will do as long as the equipment would be in the proper places. These items should be marked ďfragileĒ to help you determine that it needs extra care when moving.

For furniture like couches, beds and sofas; you can wrap them with transparent and thin plastic to protect them from dirt and dust. The furniture should be the first set to be moved to get them out of the way and make room for the other things that need to be done.

For glasses, plates, lamps and other breakable items; you can wrap them in clean paper to avoid breaking. Pointed objects like knives need to be wrapped as well, to avoid causing accidents.

Pack things of the same sizes in the same boxes. This would also help you save space and fewer boxes would be needed. Medicines and other liquid-items should be in a separate box. Spill-free and sealed boxes are recommended to be used for these kinds of items.

Importance of Finding a Dermatologist

The skin is a layer of protection that also makes you look good. Itís something that everyone has, but unfortunately oneís skin may not look the same as anotherís. Are you thankful for your good skin? Then you should maintain it. Are you worried about your blotchy, dry skin? A dermatologist has answers for that.

Identify and Remove Bothersome Stuff

You may already be satisfied with your skin now, but what if there are some problems youíre not aware of? Dermatologists specialize on the skin so having one should help you determine unknown or unnoticed skin problems. If there is a mole that doesnít look normal or if a patch of your skin has weird-looking pores, your dermatologist will know what they mean.

More Beautiful Skin

The most obvious reason why finding a dermatologist is important is that it will help improve your skin. Those blemishes youíve always hated can easily go away. Those acne breakouts wonít be coming back once your dermatologist treats them. You can also have any mole removed easily. Your usually oily skin will go away too.

A Long-Term Companion

Having a dermatologist is like having someone who has your back. The good thing is that they can give expert advice on how to care for your skin. They can give you pointers and help correct any practice that may be causing damage. Itís like having an older sibling who looks out for your skinís welfare all the time.

Help in Times of Emergency

What if you forgot to put on sunscreen before hitting the beach? For immediate sunburn relief, you can easily call your doctor and ask for their advice. The same goes for pimples that come up just when you are headed to an important event. You can call for an emergency appointment for these special occasions and be on your way in minutes. For other doctors you might have to wait in line all day.

The Undeniable Perks

Dermatologists get their hands on a lot of sample products. And who would be their priority when giving these out? Their beloved patients, of course. Mind you, some of these sample products can be expensive and hard to obtain. You wonít have to spend money on an expensive product you donít even know the results of. Thanks to your dermatologist, you can try it out for free.

Discounts, Anyone?

What if your dermatologist had suddenly increased their consultation fee? If you are a returning patient, they might not even increase the fee they charge to you. All others will be paying a higher price while you enjoy the same services for a discounted one. This could also go for the products that youíll buy in their clinic. Since youíve developed trust for each other, itís certainly easy to ask for discounts on big purchases.

It feels good to have skin that other people envy. If you look around you, many people are suffering from skin problems such as acne, pimples, and discoloration. Thankfully, with the help of a dermatologist all of these can be gone in a flash. Whatís even better is that you can be proud of your appearance. Your confidence will be improved because you invested time in finding the best dermatologist.

How Were Contact Lenses Discovered?

This article entails on the account of the discovery and history of contact lenses.

Surprisingly, it was Leonardo da Vinci who imagined and conceptualized the idea of the contact lens in the year 1508. It may be surprising that the year was 1508; but, the fact that the man to first think of and sketch the thought was the father of various far sighted notions was not surprising at all.

For over a century, there were really no developments regarding this idea of Leonardo da Vinci. In spite of everything, there were no exact and precision tools as well as knowledge to create contact lenses at the time.

Astonishingly, Rene Descartes, a Frenchman realized the need for corneal contact lenses in 1632. However, for another couple of centuries, his idea was stuck in a shelf. Then came 1801, the time Thomas Young corrected his own sight using Descartesí idea. He used a ľ-inch elongated glass tube, filled it up with water then placed microscopic lenses at the end.

Contact Lens Development

At around 1823 to 1827, Sir John Herschel, an English astronomer, brought up the idea of conforming the contact lens to the specific shape of the eye by grinding.

The Breakthrough

By 1887, a German glassblower named F Muller was able to create the first contact lenses ever that was specially designed to now cause irritation when worn on the eyes. This was a kick start for a couple of opticians, the French Edouard Kalt and the Swiss Eugen Fick, to account their successful use of contact lenses in the correction of their patientsí sight.

The first ever American to make lenses in New York was William Feinbloom. He brought up the notion of using plastic as an alternative material. Held up by The Second World War, American Optometric Association affirmed the creation and use of contact lenses as a formal practice for optometry in the year 1945.

After the approval, works on the designs of the best lens proceeded at a rate of knots. By the year 1950, the corneal lenses were designed by Dr. G Butterfield. This was considered an important step for the development of the contact lens and this even allowed the lens to be made following the eyeís shape rather than sitting on it.

In 1960, ten years later, Drahoslav Lim and Otto Wichterie began experimenting with a soft plastic that is water absorbent as a way of creating lenses. After eleven years, 1971, soft lenses were officially available commercially within the US while the remainder of the globe follows at different degrees relying on their medical bodies who rule and grants permission for the material to be used.

The Biggest Move

It is this stage that gave people the largest move in the creation of lenses that are commercially available nowadays.

Basing on the worldwide recognition of the soft lenses, people are using various styles that are available today. From Toric lenses, Rigid Gas Permeable lenses, Colored and Tinted lenses to Bifocal Lenses, all of these are various lenses born out of the development from that stage.

How Was The Keyboard Invented

The keyboard is a very useful tool nowadays. Every computer, every cellphone and every iPad has a keyboard. It is crucial in the PC which most of use today for various important reasons. This article will orient to you about how the keyboard was discovered. Certain events on C.L. Sholesí study on how to make typewriters better are taken into account. The QWERTY arrangement of the letters to be punched/pressed is also found on this topic. Take a few minutes or seconds of your time to learn more about how the keyboard was discovered

An Introduction To The Typewriter Model

The QWERTY keyboard has been with us for over a hundred years already. It is now referred to as the universal keyboard, for reasons that we use it all the time as a model for various keyboard. The QWERTY keyboard was first made to use by an inventor named C.L. Sholes. He put together different prototypes for different kinds of typewriters that were to be used in certain machine shops in Milwaukee. It was during the 1860s that the universal keyboard was discovered.

C.L. Sholes

C.L. Sholes has been accused of deliberately putting the arrangements of his keyboards for bad reasons. People thought that the QWERTY was a burden. Fast writers thought that the arrangements of the keys were able to slow down their typing powers. C.L. Sholesí purpose for creating the QWERTY keyboard was actually the opposite of what these people thought.

The First Typewriter Model

When Sholes first made a different keyboard model ( not the QWERTY) in the 18th century, the keys were in alphabetical order, and they were lined up in two rows. The first typewriters were very slow and sluggish. They also easily jammed, and precision was never something the typewriter had. Sholes devised a way to solve these keyboard problems. He tried to rearrange the letters. They first typewriter had their letter placed on the end of rods known as typebars. These so called typedbars hung in a circle. The mechanisms of how the typebar did its job in punching letters were very primitive. You could say that it was a bit similar to the typewriters in the 50s, but even then, it was still too old.

The QWERTY Arrangement

Sholes decided to use the QWERTY arrangement of the after studying letter pair frequencies under the guidance of educator Amos Densmore. Amos Densmore was the brother of Sholesí financial backer James Densmore. The arrangement was very important and very useful since it prevented the letters on the typewriter from jamming. No two words that were often used regularly were to be placed close to each other. For example, the words T and H were placed close, but not too close since they are usually used in several word (the, bath, math, etc.). Sholesí solution of using the QWERTY arrangement of letter was not able to solve the typewriter jamming completely, but it did greatly reduce the problems from occurring.

How Was The Bubble Gum Flavor Discovered?

This article is about the discovery of the bubble gum flavor and how it came to be.

Many years ago, people have already known gum in a natural form. It is frequently used coming from the resin of leaves, trees, grasses, grains as well as bee wax. Ancient Greeks also chewed on mastic, which is an aromatic and resinous substance, while the Maya opted for the coagulated sap of Sapodilla tree and the North American Indians masticated spruce sap that has already hardened.

It was in 1848 that the first chewing gum was made available in the market by a man named John Bacon Curtis who was a merchant from Maine and the gum was named ďState of Maine Pure Spruce GumĒ. Together with his father and his brother, Curtis discovered that spruce resin can become gummy and sticky and is good enough for chewing. To give the product a taste, the father and sons added various paraffin flavors which in turn gave the chewing gum a soft rubber-like consistency.

In the year 1869, the first chewing gum patent was obtained by Amos Tyler, an American who failed to make the gum purchasable. William Finley Semple, a dentist from Ohio, was able to sell it in December 1869 with the product generally composed of chalk and charcoal.

From Adams New York Chewing Gum To Yucatan

It was also in 1869 that a Mexican general named Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna came to New York as a hunted man from his country bringing a Mexican ďtreasureĒ with him Ė 250 pounds of dried Sapodilla sap to be sold as a rubber substitute. The sales of the goods directed him to Thomas Adams who was a successful businessman and an entrepreneur thatís full of doubt. He thought of the idea of producing chewing gum out of the dried sap and adding different flavors from the recipe of Lopez; therefore, making the initial step in making the first ever chewing gum in the world that was very similar to what the present market has as a chewing gum. The first gum was called ďAdams New York Chewing GumĒ. During the 1970s, the ďAdams and sonsĒ company started selling gum named ďSour OrangeĒ and was popularly eaten as a dessert. By 1871, Adams had the first machine for gum manufacturing patented, creating a licorice-flavored gum named ďBlack JackĒ. However, the gum could not keep the flavor for a long time of chewing. Come 1880, corn syrup, sugar and gum with an aroma of mint were formulated by William White. He realized that mint is preserved longer compared to the other flavors. ďYucatanĒ was the name of the original gum with mint flavor.

Tutti-Frutti

During the same time, Dr. Edward Beeman added pepsin powder to the already known recipe therefore making a gum with digestive roles. This was actually one of the biggest discoveries in the account of chewing gum and the recipe is in fact still used until now. By 1888, ďTutti-FruttiĒ invaded the market as the gum sold through specialized machines in the subway stations of New York.

Wrigleyís Chewing Gum

By 1891, ďWrigleyís Chewing GumĒ was produced by William Wrigley Jr and at that time, there were more popular gums available in the market. By 1892, Wrigley came out with the idea of giving a couple of packages of chewing gum for every can of baking powder and the offer enjoyed success. Wrigleyís first brands were ďVassarĒ and ďLottaĒ, and in 1893, ďJuicy FruitĒ appeared in the market and by the following year, ďWrigleyís SpearmintĒ was made available to the masses. In 1914, Wrigley together with Henry Fleer created ďWrigleyís DoublemintĒ with fruit extracts and mint flavor. This led to the worldwide recognition of Wrigley and the opening of his first factory in USA and then in Canada, Australia, UK and then in New Zealand.

How to Make Homemade Shampoo

Not everyone has perfectly straight or yielding hair. Some have frizzy, hand-to-manage locks. Others have thin hair, while others are balding prematurely. There are different kinds of hair and each one requires a different kind of shampoo. Unfortunately, shampoo can sometimes be expensive. Thankfully, you can make shampoo thatís tailor-made for the needs of your hair.

Identify the Problem Area

There is no universal shampoo that can magically solve frizz while also giving some hair types volume. You need to figure out what kind of hair you have so that you can figure out the shampoo to make. If youíre having problem with dry hair, you need a moisturizing shampoo. If you want to protect your dyed hair, non-chemical ingredients work best. If you want less breakage, go for ingredients that strengthen the hair.

Look for the Right Ingredients

Now that youíve determined the formula you want, you need to identify what makes that shampoo formulation possible. Look for the ingredient that will moisturize your hair, tame it, or strengthen the strands. For example, if you want to straighten your hair, add vinegar to the solution. For deep conditioning, coconut oil should work just fine. Some people who want to cleanse their hair actually make shampoo out of baking soda and water.

Determine the Proportions

You need to make sure that your shampoo isnít mostly water. Majority of the solution should be the main ingredient, such as coconut oil, but a sufficient amount of Castille Soap also has to be present. If youíre adding fragrance to your shampoo, you might want to go for plain liquid Castille Soap.

Make it Foam!

All shampoos, when lathered on to the hair, bubble up and foam. This makes applying a small drop enough to cover all the hair. Commercial shampoos rely on chemicals to make their products foam up beautifully, but with the right ingredients you can get that bubbling too.

Add Vitamin E Oil

Everybody needs to give their hair some vitamin E. This helps make the hair stronger and shinier. Those who are having breakage problems might want to add more vitamin E oil than those who have greasy hair. Again, the amount to use depends on your hair type.

Having a Hard Time Hitting Success?

Well, not everyone is gifted with the ability to make something out of scratch. If youíre really having a hard time making your own shampoo, there are some easy recipes online that you can follow. All you have to do is search for the homemade shampoo thatís suitable for the type of hair you have and do exactly as they say. That shouldnít be so hard.

Making your own shampoo not only saves you some money, but it also helps save your hair from the chemicals that are present in commercial shampoos. Besides, if you make the shampoo, it will target the main problem you are having. That means better results in less time. In trying to make your own shampoo, donít be discouraged if you donít get it right the first time. Even experts make mistakesóthatís how you learn.

Getting The Best Advice for New Parents

Being a parent is exciting. However, there are so many things that you have to figure out. Some things you can learn with your parentsí help, but there are things you have to figure out on your own.

You will start as a parent who knows nothing about handling a newborn baby. While it is an exciting chapter in your life, it can also be scary. Thankfully, your parents have been through this when they were taking care of you. They will have a lot of tips that you will find useful. What do you do when your baby is sick? Your mother can help you with that and no, it wonít make you look like a weak person.

Adapt to Changes

Your parents will give the best advices, but you have to identify the ones that may not work anymore. For example, if they used to believe in a medical cure that has been proven ineffective by science, you might want to skip that. The same goes for product recommendations. The brand of formula milk your mother used to give you may have changed and isnít the safest option anymore. If you have enough proof, donít be scared to go against what your parents say. You are a parent now, after all, and the wellbeing of your child is what matters.

Be Strict but Gentle

A growing child will be curious about everything. You need to give them some space for curiosity because this will help develop their brain functions.

However, if the growing child is starting to do things that are dangerous, a responsible parent has to step in. You also need to be strict when it comes to other relatives handling your baby. Lay down some rules about feeding the baby something that may not be suited for the childís sensitive stomach and make sure that everybody follows them.

You can Never Take Too Many Pictures

Babies grow up so fast that you will miss their smaller version soon. Make a photo album and record their growth. Keep their first shoes and clothes and imprint their footprint on a painting. Videotape their birthdays and take family pictures every year. Then when they are old enough to treasure these things, show it to them. This way, you wonít miss the first baby you had and youíll be able to relive the memories as if they were just yesterday.

Close the Gap

You and your growing child come from different generations. Your child will want to explore the things around him and some of them may not be familiar to you. Let them learn things that other children their age are learning. In fact, why not learn these things yourself and be the one to teach them?

Nobody starts as the perfect parents. You will make mistakes and that is okay. Take each mistake as a lesson and make sure that you keep them in mind. When it comes to your kids, always encourage them to learn new things and let them know that they have permission to explore and make mistakes too. Donít be a dictatoróbe a guide.

Fun Ways To Teach Algebra

The concept of taking lessons in algebra has always been a frustrating and annoying class. Majority of people in class usually donít like mathematics.

While there are some who love mathematics, you will have to accept the fact that there are also plenty of people who are not very good at it. This article is all about fun ways in teaching algebra. Certain methods to teach the lesson, including ones that are available for download in the internet are taken into account.

The Alphabet Slope

Using the alphabet provides plenty of practice when it comes to slope. For example, the printed letters found on the alphabet can be made using lines (e.g. the letter ďAĒ is only a positive, a negative or a zero slope line. Or the letter N is made up of undefined slope lines and another negative slope. The letter ďCĒ on another example would be made into a non-linear line. Using the alphabet slope as a fun way to teach algebra is very effective for students, particularly those who are in need of constant basic practice. The basics usually involve positives, zeros, undefined values and negatives.

PowerPoint Games

The internet is a very resourceful tool. You can find plenty of templates and PowerPoint presentations that teach algebra in a creative and colorful manner. You can also create your own PowerPoint algebra game once you are well versed on how the process is done (if you are knowledgeable with certain MS applications). PowerPoint Games are very useful, they can be recycled and are easily edited. You can look for certain algebra PowerPoint games in the internet for more fun ways to teach algebra.

Polygon Pictures

This type of algebra learning tool will let students put in their names on certain blocks. The blocks contains letters and identifies the polygons and other algebraic values of the soon to be used letters. The students are even able to decorate the pictures with their names using some polygons they can use. The Polygon picture project is available on certain websites in the internet. You can grab one of your own and use in in teaching your kids algebra.

The Python Project

The Python project, also known as PYTHON is an incorporated Computer Programming and Art that has slopes and other types of linear equations. PYTHON is available for download in the internet. While the thing may appear as if itís a difficult project, donít be fooled. PYTHON is actually easy to use. Itís methods of teaching is very straightforward. Your students will definitely love PYTHON.

Even if you or your students donít know any code (which is usually the case for frustration), they can still learn how to use python. Just copy and pasting a few codes is whatís needed to use the PYTHON.
